Affordability

Financial aid & scholarships

Fee waivers, sliding scales and scholarships published by the organizations that run these programs — each with who is eligible and the page that decides it. Nothing here is estimated from a family's income, and a program with no aid published simply does not appear. A few are awards toward college rather than help with a program fee; those are labelled College scholarship.

2 of the 108 programs in East Longmeadow say they offer financial aid or a scholarship, and 7 schemes are set out below.

Financial aid YMCA of Greater Springfield

YMCA of Greater Springfield Financial Assistance

Income-based financial assistance from the Y association serving the greater Springfield area, whose nearest branch is the Scantic Valley YMCA in neighbouring Wilbraham; it reduces membership and program fees for families who cannot pay the full amount.

Who is eligible
"The YMCA of Greater Springfield believes in making our programs and services affordable for all. We will not turn anyone away based on inability to pay full fees. Financial assistance may be available for qualifying individuals and families. Applications are available through the Welcome Center." Applicants submit address verification for each adult, birth certificates for all family members, one month of paystubs from each working household member 21 or older, and proof of unemployment, Social Security/SSI, child support, TAFDC/EAEDC, retirement or other income plus a federal tax return; memberships paid by a third party do not qualify.
Financial aid Springfield Jewish Community Center

Need-based assistance toward JCC membership dues and program fees, including childcare. Families submit an application with income-verification documents; awards are not renewed automatically and must be re-applied for each year.

Who is eligible
"The Springfield JCC is committed to making our programs and services as affordable as possible. We offer limited, need-based financial assistance toward JCC membership dues and program fees, including our childcare programs." (apply via the linked "Financial Assistance application"; "Be sure to attach the required income verification documents.")
