About Us

Built by parents who got tired of holding
five different registration logins in their heads.

The Problem We're Solving

Signing a child up for one activity in Watertown can mean three different accounts on three different websites. The city’s recreation department registers at rec.us. The school district’s community education arm registers at a different address entirely and is a different organization. The Boys & Girls Club takes its own membership. The youth soccer, hockey and baseball clubs each run their own signup, and the studios and private clubs take theirs directly. Adaptive recreation is run jointly with Belmont, so that is a fifth system in a different city.

None of these are broken. They are just separate. But the effect on a parent is real: you cannot compare a city gymnastics class with a club gymnastics class, because you can never see them side by side. The information lives on league websites, school portals, Facebook groups, word of mouth and paper flyers.

We built Watertown Youth Sports to put it in one place. Every program, every season, every age group. Search, filter, compare, and plan — all without creating an account or downloading an app.

Who We Are

YouthBy Watertown is an independent guide, built by the team behind YouthBy's other town guides. It is not run by the City of Watertown, by Watertown Public Schools, or by any of the organizations it lists.

That independence is the point. Every listing names the organization that actually runs the program, and every card carries a link to the page it was researched from. If we have something wrong, you can see where we got it and tell us.

It is also why we leave gaps visible. Lacrosse and track & field have no listings here yet. Both categories stay on the home page and say so when you click them, because a blank space you can see is more useful than a category that quietly disappears. Where a provider does not publish its price, the card says that too — and carries no price band at all, rather than a guess.

What's Next

We're just getting started. We're working on expanding the program database — the two empty categories are the first thing we want to fix — and adding more features to help parents plan a season across providers rather than one signup at a time.

Have a program we're missing? Know something we got wrong? We'd love to hear from you.

More coming soon — stay tuned
